Antique 1890's Theatre Costume with Studded Glass Beadwork and Padded Shoulders and Shorts
One of the coolest things I've ever found!
Antique 1890's costume, with dramatic mutton style sleeves and padded bottoms
Black velvet with silk and glass beadwork throughout
Shorts are padded with hand stitched button holes and 1896 dated hook/slide at top of waist
The shorts are pinned to the model here as they are quite a bit larger- With some expert seamstress I bet you could get them tailored to your preferred size
Top has hook and eyes up the back to secure
Condition: has obvious wear for age, some balding to velvet and areas of missing beads and some fraying of threads and fading to a few areas- please refer to pictures for condition. Is still very wearable though with care. It could be in a museum!
